The ISACA Pittsburgh Chapter will be hosting the 5th annual Student Information Security Day on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This is a free event for students.

An outline of the timing is as follows:

  • Intro/Young Professionals Panel: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
  • Break: 2:00 PM – 2:10 PM

  • Speaker 2: 3:05 PM – 3:55 PM
  • Speaker 3: 3:55 PM – 4:45 PM
  • Closing remarks: 4:45 PM – 5:00 PM

Congratulations to RMU NCAE Cyber Games Team!

RMU team won the 3rd place out of 12 teams in the Northeast Regional competition for the 2025 NCAE Cyber Games sponsored by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) on Feb 15, 2025.

College of Business & STEM Summit

Tomorrow, February 12th at the UPMC Events Center.

2025 Ready, Set, Go! College of Business & STEM Summit happening on Wednesday, February 12th. Sessions kick off at 9 a.m., with the last one starting at 3 p.m. The schedule lists the speakers by session, along with their companies.

This is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable insights, career advice, and a better understanding of the skills they’ll need to succeed.

Honors from National Science Foundation (NSF) for RMU NSF SFS Grant

NSF leadership highlighted and commended RMU for the SFS (Scholarship for Service) grant accomplishments and student success at the opening ceremony of the annual NSF SFS grant PI meetings and student job fair in Washington DC during January 7-9, 2025.

Commendation from NCL

Commendation from National Cyber League (NCL)

The National Cyber League (NCL) Commissioner has formally commended the following RMU NCL faculty coach and students for placing #69 nationally in the Cyber Power Rankings among over 9,260 students from 550 colleges and universities in the NCL Fall 2024 Season.

NSF SFS Student James Bonacci Presentation at NCEC

James Bonacci, an NSF SFS student scholar in RMU’s accelerated BS/MS Cybersecurity program, was invited and funded by the national Information Security Research Education (INSuRE) program to present at the 2024 National Cybersecurity Education Colloquium (NCEC) in St. Louis, Missouri during October 7-10, 2024. The presentation was based on a guided team research project on AI/neural network models for security completed in the spring semester by 4 RMU NSF SFS student scholars (James Bonacci, Peyton Lutchkus, Reese Martin, and Rob Pava). Dr. Bradford Kline from the National Security Agency (NSA) served as the government mentor, and Dr. Ping Wang was the RMU faculty supervisor for the team. Thanks to RMU Provost Dr. Joseph Zimmer for his attendance at NCEC in support of RMU cybersecurity programs and students!
