Dr. Parul Yadav, RMU’s Spring 2024 Rooney Scholar, will be presenting on Cybersecurity and AI Implications in the Wheatley Atrium on Wednesday, February 28th from 4:30-5:30pm. Students will receive 1 hour of SET credit. Pizza will be served.

Matt Rosenberg, an Allegheny County Mobile Device Forensic Examiner ranked second out of nearly 4,000 digital forensic examiners in the United States. The U.S. Secret Service’s National Computer Forensics Institute recognized the top digital forensic examiners and Allegheny County’s Matt Rosenberg rose to the top. This ranking took into consideration an investigator’s ability to extract data in three areas: mobile devices, digital media, and hard drives.
In addition to his full-time job as an Allegheny County Mobile Device Forensic Examiner, Professor Rosenberg also teaches part-time at RMU, instructing students in several courses including Intro to Digital Forensics, Fundamentals of Cyber Forensics, and Mobile Forensics. Congratulations, Professor Rosenberg, on this prestigious ranking!

Due to student interest, we’ve opened the AWS DeepRacer Competition to graduate students in the CIS department as well! There will be two separate competition tracks – one for undergraduate and one for graduate (see the flyer below for updates).
Due to this change, the deadline for teams to sign up has been extended to February 14th. After the 14th, we will be contacting all teams to provide more information.

Matthews International is seeking an IT Security Analyst Intern. The IT Security Analyst Intern must possess a working knowledge of Information Security Concepts. The IT Security Analyst Intern will assist with identifying and reporting all security issues, prioritizing threats, monitoring Threat intelligence feeds, and confirming threat mitigation is in accordance with company standards. They will be expected to collaborate with all business units to help respond to security alerts, phishing emails, process threat intelligence, and provide feedback on new information security technologies uses. This internship will begin on May 20th 2024 and will finish in August.
