Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the NADG IT Leadership team, you will provide our internal IT Department assistance in project management, data research, pricing research, hardware, and software installations.
Provide technical support to non-technical staff in our dental practices, by phone/ticketing system. Troubleshoot computer and printer-related issues. Install and update software when assisting with IT Service Desk. Create research reports, Excel files and PowerPoints to assist in vendor evaluation cost savings initiatives. Assist with projects within the department that require outreach to each of locations for a data gathering project along with cleanup and documentation processes set forth by the IT
Leadership Team.
● Must be highly reliable
● Ability to prioritize projects and research, with the ability to meet goals and deadlines set forth by your manager
● Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
● Must work effectively with others in a team environment
Advanced level of skill set using Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Project management tools such as Smartsheet and IT management systems such as Kaseya and IT Glue, a definite plus.
Experience / Background Preferred:
● Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science majors preferred
● Entering Junior or Senior Year
● Relevant IT, software experience

● Hourly Rate: $18

The Virtual Internship and Varied Innovative Demonstrations (VIVID) Coalition comprised of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Augusta University, University of Arizona, and Florida International University has internship opportunities available for college undergraduates.

The Pathways to Computing Internship Program (PCIP) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is a 10-week summer program that provides undergraduate students with learning opportunities in computer science, computational science, and mathematics. Students will be mentored by ORNL research and technical staff and make contributions to projects in diverse domains including computer science, health data science, and climate science. In addition, students will gain valuable skills needed for a successful career in computing fields. Selected interns will have access to ORNL’s leadership-class facilities, including Frontier, the world’s fastest supercomputer and first to break the exascale barrier.
Appointments will start on May 28, 2024 and will end on August 2, 2024. Dates for individual appointments may be flexible to account for academic calendars and trimester schedules.
Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee (Knoxville Metropolitan Area)
Compensation: $750 per week stipend, housing allowance of $250/week ($1,000 towards reimbursement of expenses related to travel to Oak Ridge, TN for the appointment period)
