The Robert Morris University Analytics Club is excited to announce that registration isnow open for the fifth annual ASA DataFest™ at RMU the weekend of April 11 – 13!
The American Statistical Association (ASA) DataFest™ is a celebration of data in which student teams of 2 to 5 work over a weekend to find and share meaning in a large, rich, and complex dataset.
The event format this year is hybrid (in-person/virtual), and industry professionals will be available throughout the weekend to act as mentors and help you as you work through the data. On Sunday afternoon, teams will present their findings, and $100 cash prizes and medals will be awarded to winning teams for each category.
Registration will be open now until March 21st, and registration is limited to the first 75 people.

The ISACA Pittsburgh Chapter will be hosting the 5th annual Student Information Security Day on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This is a free event for students.
The 4th Annual Logistics Conference will feature keynote speaker Christina Cassotis, CEO of the Pittsburgh International Airport, and keynote speaker Joe Sheetz, Chairman of the Board of Sheetz.
Students are invited to attend the entire conference which will run from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm at the UPMC Events Center. For those interested in attending only the CIS and Logistics panel discussion, this session will begin at 11:00 am.

Dr. Stephen Mancini, an Assistant Professor in the Computer and Information Systems Department, filmed an international documentary called Fedelta’ Soldier Prisoner last year. He worked with the US Army, Franklin County Historical Society, the Regional Government of Lombardia and the Association for Italian Prisoners of War (AMPIL). The film premiered in Chambersburg, PA as well as Milan and Rome back in September. It has been selected to appear in film festivals in 4 different countries as well as multiple cities in the US and has recently won the best Feature Documentary Award at the Dallas MovieFest. The film chronicles the story of 1,250 Italian Prisoners of War who were kept at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA during WW2. You can watch the film on Amazon Prime.

RMU team won the 3rd place out of 12 teams in the Northeast Regional competition for the 2025 NCAE Cyber Games sponsored by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) on Feb 15, 2025.
