Help Desk Specialist at Questeq

Questeq is looking for three Help Desk Specialists to work for them part-time or as an intern, between ten and thirty hours per week. The salary is between $9 and $10 per hour. Questeq is looking to start some part-time employees in May, and train more over the summer and into the fall.

The Help Desk Specialists are the first point of contact for administration, staff and faculty from area school districts and intermediate units who are seeking technical assistance for a variety of desktop and network issues. Interns provide technical support over the phone and email.

Job Objectives:

  • Primary responsibility is user support and customer service
  • Respond to questions from callers and attend to the following objectives: collect caller information, identify the exact problem location, document all case details, provide troubleshooting within the guidelines of client SLA
  • Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment
  • Follow standard Help Desk operating procedures, accurately log incoming requests using the web based system
  • Accept general responsibility for the call center and ensure that it is ready for use
  • Become familiar with available help resources,  policies, services, and staff

Qualifications:

  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic
  • Working knowledge of common operating systems and software applications
  • Adequate familiarity with equipment found in call center facility and surrounding area

Business Analytics Associate (Intern) – Management Science Associates

Management Science Associates is looking for a Business Analytics Associate (Intern). Internship Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Specialist (Intern) – Management Science Associates

Management Science Associates is looking for a Client Relationship Specialist (Intern) – MS Excel-based Analyst. Business Analyst Intern with PharmBlue

PharmBlue is looking for a Business Analyst Intern to work for them during the summer, from May 15th to August 15th, in Warrendale, PA. The intern will work 40 hours per week and will be paid $17.50 per hour. The Business Analyst Intern will perform research tasks with a view to gather data pertaining to industry, company and customer trends.

Duties for this internship include, but are not limited to:

  • Synthesize data from multiple sources
  • Perform evaluation on new business opportunities and initiatives
  • Present timely, compelling, fact based analyses, reports, and dashboards that explain the business “story” behind the data
  • Identify critical business problems and translate them into structured analyses
  • Document high level requirements using diagrams and structured requirements
  • Write reports and manuals for the benefit of end users
  • Address any data discrepancy issues across all open projects to management

Qualifications:

  • BA, BS or other technical degree
  • MBA or graduate degree student
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

WestPACS Career Fair

The Western PA Collegiate Job and Internship Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Monroeville Convention Center. This is the largest job fair in the region, with more than 150 employers expected. At least 33 of the employers will be for Computer Science and IT majors.

Students and alumni from WestPACS member schools (RMU included) may pre-register online by 11:59pm on March 13 and attend for free. Otherwise, you may register at the event for a $10 fee. All candidates are required to wear appropriate professional attire.

UPMC Presentation – a TSC sponsored Event

The Top Secret Colonials will be sponsoring a presentation by UPMC which will be held on Wednesday, March 1st from 4:30 – 5:30 pm in the Wheatley Atrium. UPMC will be presenting on security awareness; they will talk about how to handle one of the largest in-house security teams in Pittsburgh. The presenters will discuss the various teams that make up the information security group and the different skill sets they look for in employees. UPMC will also discuss the different software and hardware tools that it uses to keep the organization protected.

There will be three presenters from UPMC at this event:

  • Darrin Henderson – Senior Manager of Network Security and F5 Application Delivery at UPMC. Darrin has over ten years of IT experience, with degrees from Pittsburgh Technical Institute, Robert Morris University, and Capitol College.
  • CJ Gerardi – Intermediate Information Security Analyst for the Security Operations Center at UPMC. CJ has worked with UPMC for three years and is a graduate of Robert Morris University.
  • Greg Kassimer – Director of Security for the Information Services division at UPMC. Greg has over eighteen years of experience in healthcare IT and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

A member of the HR team will also be present to answer questions about internships and full-time opportunities with UPMC.

Top Secret Colonials Buffalo Wild Wings Event

On Tuesday, February 28th, the Top Secret Colonials will be sponsoring a Buffalo Wild Wings night. “The Job-Not Just a Job” Resume Writing Tips from the Recruiters

On Wednesday, February 22nd, the Top Secret Colonials will be sponsoring a Resume Writing Tips event with speaker David Tyburski from S2scout. David will discuss what is needed in a resume to find the perfect job. The event will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 pm in the Wheatley Atrium.

David Tyburski is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and RMU graduate. He worked in the I.T. field for over a decade before he created S2scout. He leads a team of seasoned recruiters (called “Scouts”) who are dedicated to helping clients and candidates find the right opportunity as soon as possible.

Information Security Intern with Westinghouse

Westinghouse Electric is looking for an Information Security Intern. The internship will take place during the summer and will be focused around Cyber Forensics and Information Security. The initial project of the internship would be working in the company’s forensic and investigation area to consolidate systems images for archives. The intern will produce a prototype of a low cost intrusion detection system, using commercial “off the shelf” technology.

Qualifications:

  • Rising junior or senior
  • Line of study should be around Cyber Forensics and Information Security
  • Familiar with Systems and Network Administration
  • Software development background (but not an extensive developer)
  • Coursework completed in Network or Systems Administration

TSC Chipotle Fundraiser

The Top Secret Colonials will be having a fundraiser at the Chipotle at 310 McHolme Drive in Pittsburgh (Robinson) on Monday, February 13th. The fundraiser will take place between 4pm and 9pm. All you have to do is either bring the flyer, show it on your smartphone, or tell the cashier that you’re supporting the Top Secret Colonials. 50% of the proceeds will go to Top Secret Colonials.
