Amazon Web Services looking for Cloud Support Associate

Cloud Support Associate career path at AWS. Support Associates are passionate about cloud computing, and believe world-class support is critical to customer success. Associates will provide customer support across all the cloud products, arming our customers with required tools and tactics to get the most out of their product and support investment.

This role offers the flexibility to choose an in-person, hybrid or fully virtual work model!

Eligibility requirements:
• Students must have taken the AWS Academy Cloud Architecting course and obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate level certification
• Students must be eligible to work in the United States without immigration support
• Networking, Linux, Kubernetes, and Big Data/Analytics knowledge are valued but not required
An Associate degree is required for consideration for a full-time role; candidates must have a graduation date between August 2021-August 2022
o The job posting shows a BS is required to apply, but students connected through this outreach holding an AS degree will be eligible. Students can enter their latest degree type when filling out the application.

What happens next?

CCAC Seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach in Information Technology

Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in their Information Technology programs.  CCAC plays a critical role in the area’s IT workforce development, academic studies, and entry-level careers. Having a knowledgeable and experienced adjunct teaching staff to facilitate this subject matter is essential.

Courses and programs of study include specialized courses involved with:

  • Programming
  • Operating Systems
  • Networking
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Analytics
  • Multimedia and Game Design

A complete list of course and program descriptions can be found in the CCAC Catalog. Courses are offered in various formats:

  • Day and evening on-ground (synchronous) with some classes requiring students to participate asynchronously through online work (hybrid class)
  • Day and evening (synchronous, online using Zoom) with some classes requiring students to participate asynchronously through online work (hybrid class)
  • Online classes (asynchronous) using Blackboard

CIT and Data Analytics adjunct faculty must hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information/Data Science, or Cybersecurity OR a master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate hours in a related technology field. Multimedia adjunct faculty must hold a bachelor’s degree in multimedia or related field with knowledge and experience in multimedia and computer graphics software. In addition, required background clearances be current and on-file.

Amazon offers AWS Tech U

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a leader in cloud computing services. Amazon is offering AWS Tech U, a career development program for students and recent graduates who want to advance their technical and business skills. AWS Tech U is now seeking applications.

This unique residency program consists of six months of project-based learning followed by a six-month work assignment in an AWS technical role. Current or former AWS Academy students (any students who have taken INFS4460/INFS7460 Cloud Computing & Amazon Web Services at RMU) are invited to explore the open roles and apply today.

Virtual Career Fair, October 1st 12:00 – 4:00 PM

The Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) is hosting our first-ever virtual career fair on October 1st from 12:00 – 4:00 pm in Handshake.

The fair is open to all RMU students and alumni, and we ask that you highly encourage all students to participate.  Even if the student is not actively seeking an internship or career employment, our fair is a magnificent opportunity to start building a relationship with the region’s top organizations.

There are going to be 50 employers registered including several Fortune 500 companies with more registering every day. Along with these great opportunities there is also going to be over 750 chances for you to do one-on-one interviews.

These events run as a “first come, first serve” so we recommend that you register as soon as possible to secure a spot.
