12-Hour Gaming Event

The Top Secret Colonials will be hosting a 12-hour gaming marathon event on campus on Saturday, November 12th. The event will take place from 11am to 11pm in the Ferris Ballroom in Yorktown.

The event is Bring Your Own Equipment: screens, servers, consoles, etc. TSC will provide necessary power and Ethernet connections.

The cost to attend the event is $5. All proceeds will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. SET Credit will also be given for attendance. Food and drink will be provided.

Lunch and Learn – SDLC Partners

SDLC Partners and the Career and Professional Development Center has invited RMU students to a “Lunch and Learn” program on Wednesday, October 19th at 12pm. The program will be held in the Career Center classroom located in the Benjamin Rush building.

SDLC Partners is a business and technology consulting firm. They will have speakers on hand to talk about resume writing, interview tips, and open positions within their firm.

The event is free and open to all faculty and students. A light lunch will be provided.

IT Internships and Full Time Positions- Highmark Health

Highmark Health is looking for several IT interns and full-time entry level employees. The positions include: Graduate Intern, Undergraduate Intern, IT Analyst for the Emerging Leaders Program, Associate Application Developer, Associate Business Analyst, and Associate Security Analyst.

IT Analyst- Emerging Leaders Program

In this position, employees rotate through at least 4 different IT service areas over a 2-year period. Employees are exposed to multiple tools and technologies, receive education and development opportunities designed specifically for them, and have opportunities to work on special projects that help develop the skills needed to be successful.

Associate Application Develper

This position delivers application development services in strategic languages such as Java, Javascript, or Cobol. Employees have an opportunity to work with some of the latest application development tools and technologies.

Associate Business Analyst

This position provides critical support to the applications and services used by business units. Typical responsibilities include defining requirements, managing customer requests, creating and executing test cases, and conducting data research.

IT Administrator Intern – CONSOL Energy

CONSOL Energy, Inc. is looking for students to participate in their internship program. Depending on the student’s interests and skills, CONSOL will help to develop skills in one or more of the following areas: Network, Cyber Security, End User Account Management, Servers, Storage, Desktop Support, Help Desk, Applications Development and/or Database Administration.

Target Responsibilities: 
• To learn, document, and implement a small, solo or team project in a specific area of IT.

The event will take place at HM Health Solutions Headquarters in Downtown Pittsburgh. This is a great opportunity for students to gain a deeper knowledge of the company’s cloud technology, network with hiring managers and executives, and learn about the benefits of working for HM Health Solutions.

PNC Technology – Internship Opportunity

PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. is seeking Technology Interns for the summer of 2017. The internship program will be available in Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, and Cleveland, OH. The program will be ten weeks long; there are three separate internship opportunities with PNC Technology: Business Systems Analyst Intern, Application Developer Intern, and Infrastructure Analyst Intern.

Business Systems Analyst Intern – interacts with clients and service partners (both internal and external) to coordinate the development, analysis, implementation, and on-going support of approved system enhancement requests.

Application Developer Intern – interacts with all members of the application development team, business analysis team and business service partners to successfully implement system enhancement requests.

Infrastructure Analyst Intern – interacts with all members of the support team and individual Line of Business partners and internal clients as needed per project.

Qualifications:

  • Sophmore or Junior working towards a Bachelor’s Degree
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
