RMU Named “Cyber School of the Future 2017”

Cyber security consulting firm Paraben has named Robert Morris University the “Cyber School of the Future 2017“. Paraben CEO Amber Schroader honored RMU with the award at the Paraben Forensic Innovations Conference. The conference was a private industry and law enforcement symposium held at the Moon Township campus in August.

Schroader singled out Dr. Karen Paullet, associate professor of computer and information systems, for her work in mobile forensics in the classroom and National Science Foundation-funded workshops.

Also announced at the conference was the newly launched RMU Center for Cyber Research and Training. The center offers customized training workshops on maintaining network security and deterring and detecting unauthorized access. It also shares techniques for gathering evidence from mobile devices for law enforcement investigations, and will conduct research in cyber security, cyber forensics, and other cyber-related topics.

Top Secret Colonials wins Revolution Portal of the Year

On Tuesday, April 18th at the Student Excellence Awards, the Top Secret Colonials was awarded the Revolution Portal of the Year. The organization received a check for $200. TSC received the award because it was the most active organization on OrgSync.

OrgSync is a Campus Engagement Network that connects students to organizations, programs, and departments on campus in a private online community. This is the first year that Robert Morris University has used OrgSync for its student organizations and activities.

The Top Secret Colonials’ OrgSync page lists various events that the organization has hosted. This allows TSC members to RSVP to these events. The page also lists other news and information about the organization. You can visit the TSC OrgSync page here.

Network Engineer Intern with IntegraONE

IntegraONE is looking for a Network Engineering Intern to work form them during the summer. This is a full-time internship that will take place from May through August with the opportunity to continue part time in the fall, from August through December.

Responsibilities:

As the summer Network Engineer intern, you will assist the integraONE network engineering team. This is an entry level engineer position that will give you the experience in deploying and maintaining SMB and enterprise level infrastructure. You will be working with switches, routers, servers, SANs and varies wireless technologies. This position will be 90% travel within 75 miles of an integraONE office.

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Previous work experience with related technologies
  • Firm knowledge of computer networking or computer science
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and professional presentation
  • IT or Computer Science related coursework

Help Desk Intern with IntegraONE

IntegraONE is looking for a help desk intern to work with them during the summer. This is a full-time internship from May through August with the opportunity to continue part time in the fall, August through December.

Responsiblities:

As the summer IT Help Desk intern, you will help the call center of the integraONE Help Desk. This is an entry level IT position that will give you experience in PC application, computer hardware, troubleshooting skills, and interaction within the business. This position will be 90% answering Help Desk calls with basic first call resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Basic knowledge of IT hardware and applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

TSC Blaze Pizza Fundraiser

Top Secret Colonials will be having a fundraiser at Blaze Pizza on Monday, April 3rd. The fundraiser will take place between 4 pm and 9 pm. In order to be involved with the fundraiser, all you have to do is bring the flyer (posted below) or show it on your phone before paying. Blaze Pizza will donate 20% of proceeds to the Top Secret Colonials.

Software Developer Intern with Management Science Associates

Management Science Associates is looking for a Software Developer to intern for them in Pittsburgh. Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for over half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with fixing minor bugs
  • Work under the direct supervision of Senior Software Developers and Software Engineers to perform maintenance on existing software products
  • Independently work on all SDLC phases

Practice Interviews for Computer-related majors with Federated Investors

Federated Investors will be on campus Monday, April 3 to conduct practice interviews specifically for Computer-related Undergraduate students. These majors include:

Students should treat these mock interviews as real interviews, dressing professionally and researching the company. The practice interview times will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. They will be conducted in the Career and Professional Development Center (aka Career Center), which is located in Benjamin Rush, the building near the back entrance of campus.

IT/Technical Internship at DVSport, Inc.

The company DVSport, Inc. is looking for IT/Technical interns to work for them part-time throughout the Spring and Summer. DVSport, Inc. is an agile software company founded in Pittsburgh, PA in 2002 specializing in digital video acquisition, analysis, and play-back software designed specifically for the sports and medical markets. DVSport interns will work in a dynamic environment that is reflective of the fast paced operations of their company. Interns will work five days a week, up to eight hours a day. The wage is up to $10 per hour.

Internship Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the building and maintaining of hardware for client use.
  • Testing and loading company software onto client hardware.

Six Sigma Internship at McKesson

McKesson Pharmacy Technology & Services is looking for a “Six Sigma Intern” to work in their internship program. McKesson provides technology that supports pharmacy operations and patient care through operational workflow, clinical programs, 340B program management, and inventory optimization. McKesson’s Undergraduate Intern program provides the intern with an opportunity to experience the healthcare industry first-hand. This a paid internship that involves part-time and/or full-time work. The average work day will last eight hours. The internship will take place in Moon Township. Each intern is assigned a project-focused opportunity on a current targeted goal within the McKesson Pharmacy Technology & Services business.

Six Sigma Internship Details:

  • Complete online Yellow Belt Training.
  • Develop Project Charters and Business Cases for potential future Six Sigma projects.
  • Support Black Belts in administering the Six Sigma Green Belt Program.
  • Support Black Belt and Green Belt projects by:
    • Mapping the current state of the process
    • Identifying evaluation criteria
    • Analyzing the root causes of non-conformance

Customer Experience – Asset Migrations Intern at McKesson

McKesson Pharmacy Technology & Services is looking for a “Customer Experience – Asset Migrations” Intern to work for them in their internship program. McKesson’s Undergraduate Intern program provides the intern with an opportunity to experience the healthcare industry first-hand. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and growing business.

This is a paid internship; it is part-time and/or full time work. The intern program will take place in Moon Township, and each intern will be assigned a project-focused opportunity on a current targeted goal within the McKesson Pharmacy Systems business unit.

Project Description:

  • Work with the Asset Migrations team within Customer Experience and key project stakeholders.
  • Identify customers impacted by new software upgrades.
  • Implement a plan to contact customers through various channels to remind them to upgrade.
  • Re-design the current upgrade mailing campaign to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design a reports and dashboards to monitor upgrade rates.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program for the duration of the internship to be eligible.
  • 3.0 minimum GPA.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program applicable to MIS, Marketing or Business Administration and entering your Junior or Senior year.
