Project Manager Analyst Consultant Position at SDLC Partners, L.P.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to serve as project management support to our client’s program/project managers as they manage the overall performance and delivery of large/cross-functional software development and/or transformation projects for our clients. This includes analyzing and documenting project issues, decision logs, action items and risks associated with the project.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partner with the Program/Project Manager to analyze and document project issues, decision logs, action items and risk associated with the project
  • Assist the Program/Project Manager in developing and maintaining project plans, managing project schedules, scope, risk, issues, and budget
  • Leverage project management best practices and domain knowledge
  • Cultivates and relies on extensive informal networks inside and outside to assist the project team in resolving problems
  • Assists with the development of project communications such as status reports, budget reports, executive summaries, change requests, etc. while maintaining predictable communication schedules
  • Assists with scheduling and managing project meetings and producing meeting minutes
  • Demonstrates strong skills in analysis, problem solving, communication, documentation, and critical thinking

QUALIFICATIONS::

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in business or IT
  • 2+ years of experience working on projects within a software development and/or transformation environment helpful
  • Exposure to software development methodologies such as Waterfall, iterative or Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Business development, statement of work, proposal development
  • Consulting/client facing experience
  • Healthcare payer/provider experience helpful

Cobol Developer Position at SDLC Partners, L.P.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this project is to work with our client to support their various COBOL applications, providing enhancements and maintenance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partner with clients to develop a trusted relationship
  • Work with a wide array of business and IT management to analyze, design and develop system architecture using standard COBOL design patterns
  • Analyze existing programs to determine the impact of proposed changes and propose alternative approaches
  • Create technical documentation, including system architecture and design, use case diagrams, and workflow diagrams and verified against business requirements
  • Support testing, debugging, and refining the software to produce the required product
  • Good experience in application of standard software development principles
  • Flexibility to work on modifications to existing systems as well as development of brand new mainframe applications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree
  • Experience in Mainframe COBOL
    • Minimum 3-4 years of mainframe-based application development experience
    • Preferred: 7+ years of mainframe-based application development experience
  • Specialized Knowledge
    • Thorough knowledge of COBOL programming language
    • Thorough knowledge of JCL and job scheduling techniques
    • Experience with staging and packaging elements for production turnover
    • Experience with DB2 and SQL queries, including integration of queries within COBOL programs
    • Experience with program debugging tools such as Expeditor or Tracemaster
    • Experience with IBM utilities in JCL such as IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEFBR14, SYNCSORT
    • Experience in on-call situations solving production abends is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with DB2
  • Healthcare insurance industry experience preferred but not required

Highmark Health are currently seeking undergraduate students who are on a Computer Science/Information Technology Career Path and who are searching for an internship opportunity to jump start their careers.

Interns will be exposed to a world class software tool that utilizes artificial intelligence technology in order to define people and companies and their relationship to Highmark, in addition to relational database concepts for both Oracle and Teradata databases and work extensively with Structured Query Language (SQL) within Pennsylvania’s largest Blue Cross and Blue Shield health insurer. Providing desk side support to computer HW, SW, and other electronic or mechanical devices including clients, servers, and legacy systems, providing resolution of incidents that could not be resolved remotely and are transferred from the Service Desk to the site for resolution, investigating, resolving, documenting, and reporting the causes and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk, complying with escalation procedures and Government directed prioritization to resolve assigned incidents consistent with Service Level Requirements, providing break fix support for contractor furnished and government owned printers, and maintaining and supporting deployable end user devices for use in an expeditionary or field environment.

Wakefern Food Corporation is the nation’s largest retailer-owned cooperative, and the wholesale distribution and merchandising arm for ShopRite supermarkets.  They currently have an opening for a Leader in Training (Management Trainee – Technical Track) located in Edison, NJ.

As Management Trainee you will participate in a 20-month program that will prepare you for a programmer analyst position within the organization. Additionally, you will participate in all life-cycle activities in support of various IT projects.

Qualifications include:

  • Four-year college degree required (Information Technology/Business Management, preferred).
  • Career interest in Information Technology and Project Management.
  • Good working knowledge of programming languages (Java, HTML, JavaScript), debugging techniques and systems development life-cycle.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in programming discipline, utilities, operating system, etc., is essential; working experience in another business system is desirable; but not mandatory.
  • Experience with WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal is a plus.
  • An understanding or interest in developing mobile applications, either natively or using a cross-platform development tool (ie. Worklight) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the DB2/Oracle/SQL Server database platforms and SQL would be considered a plus.
